Special Session 4

FUTURE GLOBAL LEADERS DRIVING CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION FOR A BETTER TOMORROW (SS4)

We have learned from COVID-19 that we must focus more on innovation and to bring about a culture of innovation to help human survival and to protect our environment from all global challenges and whatever else life throws at us (more pandemics, recessions, wars, climate change, etc.).

Young people will need to play a major role in defining and shaping tomorrow’s world by working on new, advanced and emerging technologies and focusing on innovation to help solve many of our global problems. We only have to look at the 17 sustainable development goals to understand the challenges the world and its inhabitants face.

This special session provides a platform for young researchers and scientists who are working on cutting edge research relating to nanoscience and nanotechnology and who are using new, advanced and emerging technologies to bring about a real change that will impact society. These innovations will go on (or will have the potential) to become real game changers in the field rather than just being different variants or variations of something that already exists.

Some of the topics considered for this session include:
- Global warming
- Clean energy
- Nanotechnology in medicine and health sector
- Advanced and smart materials
- Global Communications
- Emerging technologies
- Novel application areas
- Nanomanufacturing
- Commercialization of new, emerging and advanced technologies
- Research to Innovation
