Special Session 5
NANOMATERIALS AND INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES ENABLING SENSING (SS5) Part II
The growing demand for selective, sensitive, miniaturized, and deployable analytical systems is driving the development of nanomaterial-enabled sensing and biosensing technologies. This special session aims to bring together researchers working on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of functional nanomaterials, engineered interfaces, advanced transduction mechanisms, and integrated devices for sensing and biosensing.
SS5 Part II brings together advances in optical and electrical biosensing, where engineering and biology converge to create new analytical tools. Contributions will cover chemiluminescent, colorimetric, and plasmonic approaches, alongside bioassays and analytical methods for detecting relevant analytes in the food, health and environmental fields. Applications will span biomedical diagnostics, antimicrobial resistance and drug screening, food safety, environmental and water monitoring, and agricultural and veterinary analysis. Emerging directions in flexible and printed electronics, epidermal and textile sensors, biomimetic sensing, and sustainable functional materials will further highlight the breadth of opportunities offered by innovative sensing technologies.
